Strategies for Academic Success
At the best of times, most universities suffer an attrition rate of between 16 and 20% among Canadian high-school students transitioning to first-year. Because of covid-19, students are even less prepared to face online or in-class learning. Done in collaboration with a fellow educator working at MacEwan University, we have created a course offering to help students who have struggled through pandemic. Grounded in current research and best online pedagogical practices, it is designed to train them in the skills to learn, communicate and thrive during their first years at post-secondary institutions and mitigate dropout rates by targeting key factors in attrition.
